Apply for College Scholarship

Eligibility:
Applicant must be a high school senior in Yolo County planning on attending college in the 2025-2026 academic year. The applicant must be pursuing an education that incorporates sustainable agriculture. The scholarship is not limited to agriculture majors.

Applications for the 2025 scholarship must be submitted online via the Sacramento Region Community Foundation website, on or before Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Scholarship Award:

  • Award amount is $4,000 payable at $1,000 per year for up to 4 years. Renewal requirements: GPA of 2.0, provide cover letter, transcript and proof of enrollment to claim renewal award.

  • Award payment is sent to the college/university in one (1) payment and divided evenly between the academic term.

  • The scholarship can be used for cost of attendance (includes tuition, fees, books, educational expenses, supplies, and housing).

Additional Documents Required:
The following must be included with your application.

  • Official transcripts from all high schools attended.

  • One letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor, coach or teacher (non-relatives only).

  • An essay responding to the following questions in 800 words or less: Why do you think sustainable agriculture is important in today’s world? How will your degree and career choices promote sustainability in agriculture?
