Our mission is to support the progressive growth of sustainable farms and their employees. KBNP seeks to increase the resources that are available to farm workers and their families and to connect those individuals with the resources that do exist. We have been very excited to watch this program grow dramatically since the first year. Backpacks for children include age appropriate school supplies such as binders, paper, pencils, pens, rulers, calculators, colored pencils, crayons, notebooks, pencil sharpeners, erasers, glue, and index cards. During the summers of 2011, 2012 and 2013 farm workers at sustainable farms in the Capay Valley and living at the Madison Migrant Center were given the opportunity to participate in a twice a week evening class with child care provided.
